• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Glove Box

First, what Spyder and year? If it's an RT, I believe you are supposed to be able to lock the steering and glove box by turning the handle bars and then the key to lock the glove box. Have never tried it and it's to cold here to go out in the garage to verify. Someone else here can give you more accurate info I'm sure.

Thoughts on any way to lock the Glove box??

Yes this can be done on any glove box ….. I thought about doing this for my RT ….. Then I thought about the fact that it wouldn't really prevent someone from breaking the cover … so that would be just another expense ….. If still interested I'll post How to DIY it …. cost about $3.00 ……. Mike :ohyea:

its easy - I fixed my screen on the handlebars - so if I move them forward ...
( you understand ?!?)

Kinda but not really, the screen is low enough the box won't open. But the handlebars move with a flip of a lever so not really secure. ¿:dontknow:

I guess I think in terms of probabilities. I would be more concerned about the contents of my tank bag than glovebox because the tank bag is visible; most non Ryker owners don't know the glove box exists. That being said, I have never had anyone mess with any of my tank bags.

Don't leave anything in the Spyder/Ryker that is valuable. A determined thief will break the glove box or bags like they are nothing. Locks and closed compartments are for honest people.

In 53 years of riding...only had one bike broken into. They stole nothing...I went by the don't leave valuables on board rule.

Have left helmets on the seat (bike was visible from window at restaurant), accidentally left the key in one Spyder overnight in the front row of a hotel parking lot (Fairbanks AK), and it was still there in the AM.
