• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Givi V35 Locked on Spyder

The rack is GIVI and the area that holds the bag is a fixed unit, no adjustment. If you set the bag V35 into its lower clips and rotate it up without the centre latch installed all is well it fits fine and latches and unlatches.

Put the fixed centre latch on and rotate the bag up, the latch just touches the edge bag of the latch entry point, you need to lift it slightly to have it seat, which in this position also stops the red release button for travelling down far enough to release the clips. So my guess is lower the centre latch an 1/8" and it will work.

I am still waiting from a email for GIVI and see if they have any answers, before the file comes out. I looked at friend of mines yesterday and his centre latch is a grey coloured part, mine looks like a billet aluminum part unpainted, maybe its not the right part.

Anyway like you winter is not to far away and I don't plan a lot of trips in the near future, so there is not rush.

I just spend the time today installing a BMW type plug on it so I can plug in the heated jacket and trickle charge the battery when the time comes.

Next it gets my favorite part the Headlight Modulator.

Problem solved, I basically removed the center latch on both bags, (the aluminium billet part) and elongated its mounting holes by about 1/16 of an inch (.090 actually) complements of Dremel, so that the latch could be moved down slightly.

Now the bags come off and on, hot dame, simply push and release the red latch button, the arms poop up and lift away. No need to lift, kick or twist the bags in anyway, and its still a tight fit, so it won’t rattle.

If this center latch is what is mounted on the rack itself, I hope that your mod doesn't cost you in the end. The latch is designed to retain your bag
from wanting to blow away from the rack when you are traveling. The 2 plastic pieces that clip over the rack just keep the bags in place. I used the same mountings on my 2008 SE5 GIVI bags. Sometimes things just don't work as smoothly as we would like.

No problem with the latch being lowered, in my opinion it makes for a even stronger attachment as the detent on the bag latch is now .090 deeper, and when locked there is not way for it to come out unless the key locks fails.

With my problem, I only had two options, fix it or leave the bags permanently installed. The way they were the only way to get them off was in take them apart from the inside of the bags.

I talked to both Givi in the US and Canada and they tell me that no one has complained about the bags being hard to remove, I guess they haven’t read this forum, their suggestion was to grease them, and after a total strip and a part tube of silicon grease the problem was not fixed.

I think the bags are great but I just can’t stand something that should work and these definitely didn’t work, until now.

If I ever loose them on a ride, I will be the first to admit that I was wrong.

Stuff like this just drives me crazy... I am in the computer business and you see stuff like this all the time... Brand new.. just doesn't work right... not broken... How the heck do you release a product from the factory which just doesn't work....

Thanks for the Info I have the same issue although mine seems to work better every time I use it. I will bet I am making that latch looser by forcing the button down all the time...

Does anyone know if the V35 and the R35 givi vs can-am have the same blank key... I only have one and I have found lock sets out the (well you know) on the internet but for the Givi

Anyone Know for sure it will work?
