Givi saddlebags refuse to unlatch

I have the Givi bags on my '08 GS, and they are almost impossible to unlatch from the racks. Is there any fix for this? Seems like I took the the latch mech off once before, and cleaned it, but it did not help.

Make sure they're not being torqued crooked on the mount and press in on the bags when you try to open them.

I had the same problem at first on my 2009 gs/rs and I had to go and loosen the bolts holding the fitment rack enough so it would wiggle around a little then remount the bags and tighten as many bolts as I could with the bags on. Then took the bags off and finished tightening the bolts and problem was gone. Good luck.

I finally got to look into these a bit more. I took apart the latch mech and it seems when you press the button, one side of the latch mech doesn't slide totally out of the way to let that side pop loose. Got it working somewhat better, not perfect though.
