We all tend to post when we have a rather bad experience at a dealer, but I wanted to post about a dealer that went above and beyond with customer service.
I have been looking out for a left over new 2010 RT-622 trailer for some time, I either just miss them or they are way over the other side of the country.
I live in MA and I saw one about 140 miles away at GSS Power Sports in Connecticut, it was above my budget, but as my mother always says "if you don't ask you'll never know".
So I called the owner and made an offer, originally they said no. But a couple of hours later they had thought it over and called me back to agree to my offer.
They also had the spare wheel in stock and they offered it to me at a 50% discount, which of course I said yes too. double :yes:
So last Saturday, I jumped in my truck with my youngest son for a small rode trip to Connecticut.
We arrive and did all the paper work paid for the trailer and gave the barrel from my Spyder to the tech to install.
The owner was out at an event (he had already informed me up front he would not be there) and the Spyder Tech was out that day. One of the other techs went to install the barrel.
He attempted to insert the barrel with the lid closed, I did not know it needed to be open and assume he did not either.
These things happen, we then spent an hour or so trying to get the Barrel out, it would not come out or go all the way in, no matter what we tried.
I had my iPad with me so I searched spyder lovers and read all sorts of scary stories about lock smiths and drilling the barrel. So I was starting to worry that this great deal could end up costing me.
I even PM Lamont to see what my options where available to me, once again Lamont went above and beyond and called me back on my cell (Thanks again Lamont :firstplace
Anyway cut a long story sort.
We manage to get hold of the store owner (Robert Jr. aka Bob). who promptly just said don't worry about it, we will fix it and I will deliver it to you.
I was a little taken back by this, normally I would expect to have to have drove down again.
Sure enough I received an email Monday stating that the Spyder tech had come in and fixed it, he just picked the lock and seated the barrel.
They then confirmed they would deliver the trailer to my home today (Wednesday), sure enough the Owner (Bob) with his young Son and young Nephew delivered the trailer on the back of his truck.
The young ones even helped lift it of the back of the truck.
I have to say a big thanks to GSS Power Sports in Connecticut, this was outstanding service I have never seen before on a deal they didn't want to make in the first place.
Home delivery, two states over and 280 mile round trip on a heavily discounted trailer is above and beyond.
10 unicorn horns out of 5 for this one.
