• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

not to sound like an A$$ but don't you think those over sized windshields look like uncut toenails .......

yeah certainly not my cup of tea...i think they ruin the looks of the Spyder...I guess i will suffer from the wind and blowing debris but at least I will look good doing it?

Well.. after about a month with the F1 on my Spyder... I decided to switch back to the BRP touring shield to get a feel for how it 'used' to be.

The F1 was causing terrible helmet buffeting.. bouncing me around like a bobblehead doll. If I crouch down 4" the problem goes away. Marcel was going to make an F1 4" taller for me. Now he is close to having a sliding shield that can be adjusted.... so maybe that will work best.

I put my BRP touring shield yesterday and actually like it better than the F1 (sorry marcel). Sure - there is more wind... but it is evenly hitting me... which is easier to deal with than the buffeting on my helmet.

I had her up to 75 and it still felt pretty good..... no more buffeting sound in my helmet.

When I had the BRP touring on before and did highway driving I was having some problems... which I think were mostly due to wind getting up into my helmet.

I now have a Windjammer II unit installed on my helmet and it is GREAT at keeping wind from coming up into the helmet !!!

Here is my review of the windjammer and how to get one: ($20)

PLUS ... it gets very hot behind that thing !!!

I'll probably be using my F1 more in the Fall and colder weather. Would probably be good in the rain, also.

I got home on Thursday from a 1200 mile trip around the mountains of Colorado. We rode in great weather for the first three days and my stock shield was great. The fourth day, we rode in 30 degree weather, with snow and freezing rain. My helmet shield kept icing up and between the wind and the riding speed, I was really wishing that my F1 had worked out. But, after riding in that weather, I think I am just going to keep my stock shield now though. My hands got cold but other than that, my gear kept me warm and even riding in altitudes up to 11,000 feet, I still liked the wind. Now I am just hoping for a refund from Marcel and a buyer for the touring shield!

:a20: Funny! I'm real short so I don't think I need one - at first I was thinking gee - cool but I don't want to look thru anything and I agree - sort of messes up the looks of the :spyder:

Best description I've heard and very funny, well said. :agree:

I have a F1 shield. same problems as you guys have stated and MPG goes down too. I put the mels monster garage shield and like it. MPG back up and gives decent protection. Selling F1.
