There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Getting vibes- feels like riding on rumble strips

I just got back form a trip to Bar Harbor ME on my 2011 RT-S, total about 600 miles and on the way back I noticed a vibration that comes and goes. It feels like running over the rumble strips they grind into the roadway to wake you up as you approach toll booths. I get it around 75-80 mph, on glass smooth roads even, but if I accelerate or decel it goes away until I settle on a steady speed again. I suspect it is a belt vibe and perhaps the 600 mile service will address it. Is this common?

Mine too. This has been addressed earlier and it seems the long drive belt will cause this. I find my sweet spot, around 72-76, set the cruise and press on. It is not always at the same speed, so I raise or lower my rpms until I get to the "quite zone".

I took my RT in for it's 600 mile service yesterday and we discussed the vibration. They road tested and checked things- found the belt tension just high of the spec and adjusted it into range.
I haven't had the vibration since, but a longer road trip is in order to confirm the fix. So far so good.

It does make me wonder- does BRP leave the belt just a wee bit tight assuming some minor stretching during the first few hundred miles will bring it into spec.
And do the techs setting them up for delivery do the same?

I guess I'll never know...

Sounds like you need Capt. Jims belt tensioner ! Had the same problem when ever I was in the 45-48 RPM range. Belt tensioner took care of 95% of the belt flop .

Same here

I just took my Spyder in for its 600 mile aka 1200 mile actual break in, and I was having this same problem. The dealer confirmed there was some loose bolts and such that was "most likely" causing the problem. I get her back tomorrow and will confirm if this fixed the problem like the dealer is claiming.

THey Fixed it

So I had my baby taken in for her 600+ mile break-in and they confirmed there was some bolts in and around the belt area that had come a "little" loose. They said they tightened them all up and I get absolutely no vibe even at 80-95mph. So awesome to have her finally purring.

I put 300 miles on yesterday including a fair amount at speeds where the vibrations occurred. it is 90% better and it wasn't bad to start with, just a minor annoyance, something that made the RT-S less than perfect.

Last Thursday I took BR1 in for three updates, 2011-7,-8 and -9. I also had the oil and filters changed. The tech checked everything out and I mentioned I had a vib around 70-75...he said "I fixed that...the belt needed adjusting slightly". He also said adjusting it at 600 is too early and at 3,00-3,500 it will be broken in and the adjustment will last a long time. I had 3,434 on BR1 when he did the adjustment.

Guess what...on the way home..no vibs at any speeds up to 85....

Noticed this vibe on our trip this weekend. Yep, felt like rumble strips. Into shop tomorrow to have this looked at as well as 2011-07,08 and 09.

Also, left fog light is inop. Pulled access panel inside frunk and found that connection plug had dropped into shock coil and was mangled.

I hope they do a better job on the vibrations then when I took mine in there Keith!! Mine is in the shop in Lville right now for the check engine and the other probs. Didn't even mention the vibes. Hope its out of the shop for our vacation!!!

I have had this issue as well. Each maint. 3,6,9 they have adjusted the belt and it is great for a bit but then comes back... The first time was the worst as I wasn't aware of it and I thought something was coming apart....LOL
