• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting red manual flashing when adjusting suspension

I have a 2013 RT-S SE-5. When I attempt to adjust my suspension via the softer/firmer toogle switch, the word "Manual" in red is displayed on the dashboard.

Is there something wrong, what do I need to do to fix this?

All assistance is much appreciated.

Try adding some air to the air bag via the valve under the seat. If the bag has emptied for whatever reason, sometimes the system shuts down & won't do anything but flash that 'Manual' sign until you get 10+ psi in there. :dontknow:

That said, it could be that the bag is empty because you've picked up a stone between it & the frame (see Doc Humphreys air bag collar to stop that happening again!) or because something else, like maybe the non-return valve or the compressor has packed it in. :gaah:

Regardless, the first step in diagnosing any faults or getting it to work again remains the same - adding some air via the valve under the seat! :thumbup:Good Luck! ;)

Take a look under the left rear side of the bike, and make sure that this strut is still attached to the swingarm and the rear shock:

If this has come loose: you'll get that message.

If you add air from an external source while the engine is off, you should be able to see the rise in ride height &/or hear any leaks, or possibly use spray water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid added around the base of the air bag (where you can see it - looking in thru the belt from the bottom left by the rear tire is a good vantage spot if you can't get it up in a hoist or stands) or onto the non return valve from the right side... But you can usually hear or see the results of air bag leaks, the bag eventually ends up empty for one!

While you are down on the ground alongside the left of the rear tire, check to make sure the ACS levelling lever is attached between the swing arm (alongside the bottom shock mount) to the switch attached to the frame just inside the belt about 3-4" higher. EDIT: See Bob's post above re this one! If that arm isn't connected, the switch won't work & the ACS won't maintain the set ride height. You could disconnect that arm & manually operate ut to try & trigger the compressor, but be VERY CAREFUL uf you do that, cos the compressor, in fact the ACS itself will NOT work/activate unless the engine is running & the trans is in gear, so make sure you've got someone reliable sitting in the riders seat with their foot on the brake while you manipulate the height/level lever - and DON'T forget to re-connect it once you've satisfied yourself as to what you coukd or couldn't make work!

Apart from that, if you still hasn't found out what's wrong check the fuses, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the ACS shares a fuse & relay with a couple of other things, you horn for one (I think?) so if that works, the fuse should work.

I'm sure there's other things you can do/check & try to work out what's wrong, but I reckon that's a start (especially if someone corrects my vague idea/guess about the fuses!) Good Luck!

I had the same issue. Everything checked out as mentioned above. The fuses were good, the air bag was good and the arm was connected. I took it to the dealer and the compressor was bad and replaced under warranty. I also had them install Doc's air bag guard.
