• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting ready for my coldest ride yet...

Our brother-in-law, who lives there, told us that too. He said the main difference is that they get 7 solid months of warmth and 5 months of cool / cold with a little fluctuation either way. Here, its about the opposite, 5 solid months of warmth and 7 months of cool / cold (especially this year). When I was talking with him on the phone Saturday night, his example was "its only 41 degrees here right now and we still have some snow on the ground". At that time it was in the 20's in Michigan with another 5 inches of snow that day.

BJ and Deb;

You can come to Florida - ryde all year - lowest temp this year 23 degrees in the Panhandle - NO SNOW or ICE. :D

Brrrr! Way too cold to be riding. My fingers freeze when I ride and its below 40 outside. I am shopping for heated gloves but haven't decided which ones to get just yet. I have a good thermal outfit that keeps me warm.. just my fingers that get cold.

40?:yikes: dam lightweight floridians.... at 40 i'd drive in shorts and tank shirt drinking icecoffee .... :coffee:

Good for you Deb! You're a Road Warrior.

Fortunately, it won't be too long now before we have more reasonable riding weather. This has been a long, snowy winter. :(

Bruce

Bruce,
This winter has been very long and one of the harder ones we've had in a while. A lot of very cold days and very heavy snow and a combination of both. I am ready for some relief. I may be riding but I would love to be riding in a bit more comfort. At this point, when it gets to 40 degree F it feels warm.

I'm holding you to that promise, Bruce. I hope you are more reliable than that groundhog. :)

I guess I should not put all old and retired people in the same category. I should have used the proper term; "Snowbirds".

Snowbirds!!! I had forgotten that's what they were called while I lived in Tucson. Green Valley (south of Tucson) was (is) a huge community for snowbirds. :)

Scotty, you will note (unlike Wiarton Willie and Punxsutawney Phil) that I did not specify how long "too long" might be.:D

Having said that, we are supposed to spike up above freezing this week for a few days anyway, so I am holding out hope for a relatively early spring!

Best regards,

Bruce

We've had snow on the ground since Halloween. It has been years since that has happened. The ski resorts love it. Holiday Valley has been open since just before Thanksgiving.
I'm planning to trailer the spYder to North Carolina Sunday, staying 1-2 weeks. I'm looking forward to some rYding weather. Also want to do some flying.
Hopefully, Spring will be sprung when we return..
It was 4F in our horse barn at 7AM today. Tomorrow's 40's will feel like a heatwave.

What snow?

I guess I'm anxious to get my spyder out. The cold wouldn't bother me, but it's all that road salt they use around here. For now I'll just enjoy my other play ground in the snow and wait for better spring weather to take the Spyder out. This was me last week up in Northern Vermont!;)
