• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting on / off 2016 F3

I spent some time today checking out the F3 and RT's in the show room today. I rode the RT demo bike they have last week but didn't get a chance to ride an F3 yet because they do not have a demo available.

They did not have the F3L available so I sat on the F3T for a while and asked a ton of questions. I found it difficult to get on the F3 and used the passenger pegs to help me get on the bike.

For those with the F3L are you able to use the floorboard to stand on to get on the bike if needed? I assume so but would like to know for sure.

I have a good deal on a gently used (500 miles) F3L that I am contemplating buying for around $21k if it works out for me.

I think the floorboards might help getting on and off only if they're in Position 1 or 2. My wife has some aftermarket boards on her F3-T, in the stock Position 3, and they are a tad too far forward to help. I have the BRP floorboards on my F3-S in Position 5, and they're much too far forward. What really helps, and gives you an additional footrest position, is Lamont's 3rd peg. That is a HUGE help in getting on and off the F3. We have one on both of our F3's.

I have an F3 Limited. I've yet to use any of the pegs/floorboards to mount my bike. I always mount from the left side. I place my left leg close to the frame, just forward of the passenger foot peg, and swing my right leg over. So far, that works for me.

I have Lamont's Trident foot pegs but don't use them to mount or dismount.

I think the third peg would work for me also. I looked them up on the lamonster web site.
Thanks.

That's funny
I always get on from the left side also
I think that is from all the horse back ridding I've done in the passed
But I use the passengers pegs to get on my RT
you must have looong legs :roflblack::roflblack:

Being slightly vertically challenged myself, I usually put my left foot on the left passenger peg and swing my right leg over to the floor board on the other side! Haven't fallen yet! :opps: :)

Remember, I'm on an F3 Limited. The F3 has a lower seat height. When I had an RT, I always put my foot up on the floorboard to mount.

Local dealer recommends/advises/demonstrates mounting by standing on the left side passenger peg. As Nike has been telling us for years 'just do it.'

I have to agree with Lamont. My wife, Frenchie bought the third peg set up at Spyderfest and it made a world of difference for her. She had a terrible time getting on and off before because of her back pain, but now doesn't have much trouble. Thanks, Lamont.

Agree...
