• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting data off a old hard drive

I found a hard drive I took out of a machine back five years ago. I thought to plug it into my existing machine but the connector is different. It is longer than the newer cable connection. I don't remember what this connect is called. I wonder if there is an adapter so I can plug it into my mother board or get an external encloser and hook it up with usb.

It would be nice to get a docking station so I can drop any HD in and use USB for it. (It looks like a toaster)I looked at the HD and it appears to be this connector type.

Well, from here, that appears to be a 22 pin SATA connector. But you're a lot closer.

You could try this...

or something here.....

Myself, on the advice of our IT guy, I purchased a Dock.

Forget where I bought it, but was local and not too expensive. Accepts various configurations and connects via USB.

I used it for the main recovery I got it for, but have since used it many times on other drives.

Handy to have if a drive needs a multi pass wipe.

More info? Model, part number, name? I've got a stack of drives from computers over the years.

ask hillary

She will deny all responsibility and get away with it.

That is a good way to do a search.

What do you guys think of this one? Will this work with my connector type? It gets a good rating on Amazon.
