So i've owned my Spyder for three months now, put on about 6,ooo mi. Not quite sure how they all got on the odometer! I have zero complaints, I just get on and ride. The gas mileage is about half what I get on my ST1100 but thanks to spyderlovers I knew that before I bought so aknowledgement to lower MPG's but not complaint.
i sometimes want a little extra carrying capacity so as other members had done, I decided on getting a hitch and adding the Kuryakin hitch racks. It was tough deciding on the hitch as one was available for half the BRP hitch and some suggested making one as well. So I read and read some more on Spyderlovers and decided on the BRP hitch, thinking dampening, warrenty tipped the balance.
So next step is to have hitch installed, called dealer Tuesday PM, they said they'd have to order the parts but come in Thursday 8:00 and they would install. Cool.
Then....it turns out they had an RT-622 discounted, matching color and year to my RT. Oh crap . That was a future plan. Well did some heavy thinking, negotiated a bit and ended up making a deal so this is now in my driveway.
Well I love this thing too! It rides so smooth, except for adjusting shift points you really don't notice it. Great job on the install, the wiring connection is the square 4 pin connectors. Oh yeah, and this turns even more heads. So once again thanks to spyderlovers for helping me decide, or wait, should I be pissed at spyderlovers... Nah, twisted my own arm.
