• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gettin' Really P.O.'d

:agree:
I know there has been some supply issues from time to time but why one dealer can make a phone call and get one in two days and another dealer can seem to tell their customer when they will get one makes me think it's more of a dealer thing than a BRP thing. :dontknow:

I have had numerous discussions with my dealer reqarding this issue. They have absolutely no incentive dragging this out or delaying the recall service. ESPECIALLY since I told them that I was going to go ahead and preorder a white 2011 Limited RT when I brought both my Spyders in to get the recall work completed. So Lamonster, who do I need to call at BRP to get the straight scoop ? Thanks in advance.

My dealer is one of those complaining. They are not making excuses to me, so I believe they are sincere. They got 10% in the first shipment...eight RS units and one for an RT. They changed those out and sent them back. They are not getting the turn around times that BRP boasted about, so while they have recieved enough to satisfy the demand and have a couple of RS units available, the still have no spare RT units, having repaired just a couple of them so far. I'm sure there are some difficulties with dealers, and some with shipping and customs, but there are evidently difficulties on the supply end, too. I wonder if BRP is getting what their supplier originally promised?

I have been wondering the same thing. Since the dealer I bought my Spyder from closed, I am trying to work with another dealer. He first contacted BRP with names, and they would not send him any extra units. He wrote down our VIN numbers, and was going to try that approach next. He was not very happy when I told him Alcoa Good Times had done close to 40 Spyders during the SitS event, and they won't send him 1 or 2 extra units. I have not heard anything from them, and it has been 2 weeks. The good thing is we are not having steering problems now, so I am not in any real hurry to get it taken care of anyway. :dontknow:

I did too, but I have not been able to verify that. My dealer is in the dark. They were hoping I knew something.

Guys I think your all right some is dealers some is Brp and some is there supplyers! I know it's tough to wait but they will all get done. no worries if your dps is out let us know I will try to help get you taken care of. Taking care of customers is number one on the list of priority! But floor modles have to be upgraded too. We as dealers have to be able to sell instore product, it's our job and we have to be able to sell..... Might be diffrent for big box stores who have 10 lines to sell but dealers like us with spyders only have to be able to sell them. But truly confident that most dealer friends that I have and know are doing there best to get you all taken care of. Lol if it helps think of it more as a free upgrade, than a recall. Hopfully the dps units start comming in quicker..... And while were hoping let's hope Brp starts paying us more than just half asmuch as it takes to do this upgrade, either way were all in it together friends and we all want the same thing to have everyone happy.... Sorry if I made anyone mad, was not my intent.

I have had issues with my dealer, but DPS was not one of them. He used the DPS units sent for his new Spyders to do my RT and RS. Says is having problems getting replacement DPS units

I emailed Tech support today with this issue. We'll see what their response is. :dontknow:

I got a vm response from Carlo yesterday not long after my email. Too bad I didn't get a chance to talk to him but I am appreciative of his quick response.

In essence, he said they must share their stock among all the dealers in North America and they are sending replacement DPS units as soon as they received the old replaced units back from the dealers. He really didn't give me any indication as to how long this program is expected to take, or why some dealers seem to be getting them quicker than others. He gave no indication of any shortages.

In other words, no news. But at least he got back to me very quickly.
