• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gel Seat

I hated the Air Hawk. Between the added height and the feeling of less control of the bike during maneuvers, I gave up after a few days with it and sent it back. Tried all sorts of air settings and never found one I could live with.

Would like to try an Ultimate seat but not going to fork over $1000 for a custom made seat only to find out I don't like it either. If it were an off the shelf part I could try and send back if did not like, would likely order one. Oh, and I do not like the gas cap access door they add. Just looks awful to me.
The Airhawk should not add more than about 1/4" to the seat height if properly adjusted. There is some movement, however, and some people cannot get used to it. Like seats themselves, the type of seat pad that works varies from person to person...Airhawk, sheepskin, Bead Rider, gel pad, memory foam, or a combination of things. Lots of choices, all very personal. Another try and see sort od situation. At least the cost is less than that for different seats themselves.

I have a Air Hawk that I tried for a few days but don't use anymore. I should probably sell it to someone who can use it.

Butt Buffer

I have the large saddle shaped one with the POW-MIA logo embroidered on it. It has straps to hold it in place. The gel in it makes a long ride much more comfortable.

So I've seen while looking at pictures of everyones Spyders occasionally a or what appears to be a gel seat that just attaches to the original stock seat... Does anyone know what this is and where I could pick one up or sometihing similar??

Thanks so much

JCTHORNE,

We know that it's a big investment to purchase a new seat. That's why we have our 14 days trial period. A lot of our inlay packages still qualify for this trial because of the volume we sell. Fuel doors aren't for everyone - that's why we make them optional.

Ride safe~

I have a Black Velour ButtBuffer Gel seat. It is 18x14 and new in condition. I paid over $100 and will sell it for $75 shipped if anyone is interested.
