• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gauges (Newbie)

What gauge wire is that so I know which posi-taps to order?

Thanks

Pam
20-22 ga. The ones with the grey end piece. They are a little snug getting on but I like then smaller versus going up to the larger size because it gives the wire less chance to roll inside the connector and makes sure that the splice/point of the connector (middle) section hits the wire in the middle.

The clock still gains about three minutes each Month... :gaah:

Agree, the oem digital clock is cool but a joke, it can not keep accurate time.

Leave it to BRP to screw up a digital clock. I can ever recall a digital clock that was not accurate.

During the three months I've had my :spyder2:, the clock has gained two minutes. That's not bad considering how many times I've used the flux capacitor to get through the space-time continuum.:dontknow:

My opinion. For the new Spyder with the new gauges, I would not tap into the 12V coming to the gauge!

The old style gauges had 4 wires.
12V to run the light bulb in the gauge.
A ground line.
And 2 wires that run the gauge, one of which will read 12V with a meter.

The new gauges DO NOT have the dedicated 12V line to power the light bulb as the new gauges now use a low power LED for a light.
Thus they only have 3 wires now as part of the new gauge plug.
Thus this 12V line that ran the light bulb is now missing!
The other lines run through the cluster!
You are taking a risk tapping into these lines to run a gauge and possibly taking out the cluster (dash).

It's happened before to people with the old gauges when they did not tap into the 12V light bulb line and tapped into the 12V line coming from the cluster.

So be aware!

If I was to do this on a 2015 with the new gauges, I would run a proper 12V line.
