• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Gas smell, loading up..

Any feedback is appreciated. I'm a new owner and on an otherwise perfect, used 2010 RT SE5, I am getting the smell of gasoline and some loading up when I roll onto the throttle. Is this a common occurrence with this engine? I've looked for obvious leaks and there are none.

Little checking..!!

there was a recall on gas caps..make sure you have the new one. Overfilling and filling to fast can cause gasoline smells. Check the evap canister...check all fuel related hoses and filter.. Places to start...

The gas smell issue has come up on 2010 through 2013 Spyders.. I have had a 2010 , 2012, and 2014 and have avoided the smell by diligently avoiding overfilling and other issues mentioned by our friend above

Thanks to all!

I checked for recalls and mine wasn't on the list. Tighten the gas cap and now that some fuel has burned off the smell seems to have dissipated. Hope it stays gone. From now on I'll not fill as full and tighten that cap from the get go.

:welcome: It looks like you have the gas smells figured out. I also had a 2010.

I will stand by my thoughts on this that it has nothing to do with how full you fill it and I have proven that to myself on many occasions. Others have as well.

It has everything to do with overheating the gas in the tank (heat from engine and CAT) even to the point of boiling gas, and the evap canister being overwhelmed with the fumes.

On my 2011 RTS I have had it happen a few times now but not enough for me to go to a bunch of work like wrapping the pipes or removing the cat.
