• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas shock for Spyder seat

I recently bought a BRP gas shock for my 2015 RT aftermarket seat that would not stay up on its own. However when I put it on,
the seat still would not stay up for long. Took it to the dealer and they put another new one on with the same results, saying my aftermarket seat was too heavy for the stock shock. I bought a shock from the part's store that was recommended by someone on the forum. Works great! No return on shock from dealer, so I now have an almost new BRP shock that I will send someone if they need it. If you have a stock seat and are having problems holding seat up you can have this one for shipping only. My area code is 32780 so you can figure out the price.

While we're on the subject of seats, I replaced my stock seat with the Ultimate seat when I had barely 600 miles on it. It has been stored in the box in my workshop since. If anyone wants it, if you pay shipping, it's yours.

71225 is my zip

I recently started having some issues with my seat (original) not staying up. Is there a way to adjust the shock or do I need to just replace it?

If you click on my profile, then go to page 2 on my forum posts you will find part numbers and website for a seat strut which is so strong it makes your seat pop up by itself and its only 16$.Also very easy to install. On page 3 you can find part numbers for struts for your rear trunk lid,you actually need several parts to add an extra shock so you have twice the lifting power but all pn,s are listed.

Thank you....I'll check it out.

Just wanted to say thanks for the info. I now have a RDL that pops right up! Note that the part does not come with the heads that go on either end. It was a bear to remove/unscrew them from the original but it is doable.
Thanks again!:2thumbs:

Its been a year since I did mine ,guess I forgot.I think I just clamped the shaft in a vise and used a rag around the head and a pliers to spin it off like a nut.Pretty sure you can buy the head separately if you dont want to unscrew yours.
