• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Mixed with Oil on a 998.

gas leaking threw the injectors past the rings into the oil. Has it sat for a long time or is it running VERY rich? Is he noticing it using a lot of gas?
BTW drain that oil out of there asap and put in new oil and filters.

All gas combustion engines end up with some fuel in the oil. A small amount is acceptable. Larger amounts are not.

First, you need to know how bad the dilution is. Then you need to answer questions as posed by pegasus1300.

Some bad habits that can contribute to fuel in the oil.

Long idling, (5 minutes or more), especially with a cold engine. This is why it is important not to start your Spyder and let it sit idling to warm it up. Start it up and ride it easily until the coolant temp has come up.

Riding hard with a cold engine. Again, ride your Spyder shortly after start-up, but let the temps come up before you run your Spyder hard.

Short start-up and run periods of time during storage where you don't ride the Spyder until it reaches operating temperature. Coolant may reach operating temperature at idle. But your oil will remain cold. It is very important that both the oil and the coolant reach operating temperature to maintain a healthy engine.

Lugging the engine.

Mechanical issues can also lead to fuel in the oil like leaking injectors. Running rich (from modifications to the fuel delivery system). Etc.

Whatever the problem is. If the fuel dilution is severe it needs to be addressed quickly. An engine cannot last long with heavy fuel dilution issues. But you may find that just changing bad habits for good ones will solve the problem.
