• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas mileage inscrese:

I have an 2009 RS manual with 5400 miles on it and was generally averaging 30mpg on 87 octane gas. About a thousand miles ago my mileage suddenly jumped to 35mpg with absolutely no changes and sometimes I get upwards of 38mpg, I havent changed my driving style or anything else. Here in WI the politicians mix alot of crap in our gas to cut down on emissions which doesnt work but makes them feel better about themselves, but I wonder if they changed something in the fuel, who has the answer?

There is a winter mix and a summer mix. Not sure when they make the change to our fuel. But Big Brother knows best so we don't need to ask any questions....

You're getting the increased mileage that we're losing on the RS! For the past month or so, it's dropped from 34 to 38 mpg down to 25 to 27mpg !!!!!

Same as with you, nothing's changed in our driving habits..... :dontknow:

I smell at rat then.......................Our governor mandated that MTBE be added to our gas several years ago against our protest, it was supposed to lower the emissions so our pollution wouldnt drift to Chicago even though their pollution drifts up to us. What it actually did was destroy all fuel systems for 4 stroke motors such as our lawn mower and snowblower, and lower our fuel economy. The politicians didnt care.....Then they did a test and discovered MTBE caused cancer so they pulled it from the list of additives, and viola' our gas mileage increased again.

This makes me wonder if its the fuel additives causing our gas mileage fluctuations and has NOTHING to do with our Spyders?

I'm convinced that almost everything that goes wrong in our country can ultimately be traced to politicians, anyone disagree with that?

:agree: Never trust a politician! I am quite certain that no matter what state you live in politicians will bend certain laws and regs to serve their best interst... uh pocket book... errr... you know what I mean! Nowhere is that practice worse than in the Golden State! And this is just in regads to the energy racket.

Now having said that... I must say that my mileage will vary based on the way I ride. I ride hard, so I tend ro burn more fuel. And fuel quality will vary vastly regardless of location, So it's a slippery slope! I tend to try and stick with one vendor - usually Unocal and/or Chevron for basis of consistent comparison.

I have had my mileage vary from 32 (doggin') to 38MPG on a max fuel run. I don't know; that is just my experience. :dontknow:
