• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Left

You know I've run out of gas one time it took 6.78 gal. My trip milage was 191.2 miles. The reason why I ran out was because the stupid gas gauge fooled me after the last bar I have taken it 30 miles until gas fill up! But that day it was only 5 miles so the gauge was stuck, so I no longer rely on the gas gauge. I now watch the mileage and start looking at about 140 miles start worry at 160. Now I will start sweating at 180 which will never happen again!

Today I went 175 miles (280 km) and filled up with 5.73 gal (21.786 litres). That has been the most that I have added so far. Thanks for the "reassurance" that 6.6 gallons is a "real number". My light always seems to go on at around 225km (140 miles)

While we don't all agree on what type of gas to put in it, it looks like a majority of us have figured out that there is about 2 gallons of whatever kind we use left when the low fuel light comes on.

Not this again! There is no agreement about gas?...there is only fact that it was configured to run on 87...if you want to put in higher octane, that's your prerogative (and money)...there is NO factual basis that it does anything beneficial for the vehicle...do a web search and see what you come up with...

I rode mine to there was nothing showing on the guage for 10 miles. It took 5.172 gal to fill it up. Had 155.1 miles showing on the trip meter. This was the 1st time I had taken it all the way down to nothing showing. Usually fill up within 10-15 miles with the light on and 1-2 bars showing on gauge. It takes 4-4.7 gals usaully at this point.

welcome, I have no idea how much is left, I have ridden with no bars and my light always comes on with one bar left. I think most miles ridden was 180 and I put just under 6 gallons in the tank. At about 150 I really start looking for a fuel station though, just to be sure.
I had 192 and 6.35 gal

Hmmm...

My light comes on with two bars left....

Funny
Our light comes on when the second bar goes off.

I use only 87 octane because I agree with everything you said, but there are still some who think that their Sryder runs better on higher octane.
