There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Gas Gauge

I have done two "fill ups" in the last two days when it is showing really low gas(no bar or only one bar) and the light is on. The most gas I put in was 4.8 gallons. On my Spyder, the low light appears to come on when I have used a little over 4 gallons of my 7 gallons of gas. Are you all having this same problem? I have a couple new bikes in the last couple of years, and in all case the gas gauge were similar. It looks like I will just have to use the trip meter, like I did on the other bikes.

I'm having the same problem. I seem to remember someone saying the listed tank capacity is about 2 gallons over the actual. I'm going to keep monitoring mine and have them check the valve opening at my first service. I'm definitely filling it up more than I expected.

:agree: I have read a few posts where people have stated that the actual capacity seems to be more like 5 or 5.5 gallons. I put in my first fill up yesterday. I had ridden for about 10 miles with 2 bars showing on the gauge. When dltang pulled over for fuel, I filled up also and I took 4.23 gallons.

One owner posted on line that he ran his Spyder until he ran out of gas. Had a gallon with him, put that in, plus 5.3 gallons more for a total of 6.3 gallons.

One factory rep at AZ bikeweek told the test riders it is a 6.5 gallon tank.

Previous publicity of 7+ gallons was erroneous.

I assumed it is a 7 gallon tank. I had a Mutistrada that had an odd shaped long tank and because of where the reading was taken, it would show it was low when it still had about three gallons. What I did with is just use trip odometer reading to determine when I needed gas and did not use the gas gauge. If I knew that it had 7 gallons and was just giving a false reading, I would use the trip meter and put in gas after it had gone, say 200 miles. Does anyone know for sure if it has a 7 gallon tank?

No one that has posted anywhere that I have read is getting 7 gallons in even after running out. Most of us have to fill up about every 150 miles and are putting somewhere around 5 to 5.5 gallons in.

I am getting about 140 to 150 miles out of a tank also. When my low fuel lite comes on I get about 4.5 to 5 gallons to fill up.
Just a little shy of the 7.1/4 gallon tank that the specs quote in the book.

Any way just my 2 cents.

In my booklet from can-am I guess it would the advertisement I got it when I was looking at getting a spyder last fall
it says fuel capacity 7.13 us gal. But in my operator's guild it says 6.6 us gal.

I did average 32 miles per gallon on my last tank I ran it down to were there was no bars left on the gauge & it took 5.5 gallons.

I put in 5.5 twice, with no bars, too. 5.8 when I ran past no bars for a while looking for an exit. Like most tanks, you can't fill right to the top. 7.13 was an admited mistake. I think 6.6 is generous, too. One brave soul ran it out, and put in 6.3. I wouldn't give it credit for anything more than 6 even, and that will get me worrying about making it to the next stop, or up the next hill.

I am finding that 150 -165 is about all I am comfortable with. I still have one bar showing at that distance. Takes maybe 5 gallons when I fill up.

I did the "check" today with one bar still showing and the fuel light on. Mind you, this was more effort to track than i'm used too, i usully just fill and ride. ;D 155 miles, 4.928 gallons, 31.453 mpg. I'm still happy Spyderin' :spyder: And now for my next mission tonight, install mirror extensions and hindle. :spyder: ;D
