• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GAS CAP HARD TO CLOSE F3T

Have a new 2016 F3 Limited...Having a hell of a time closing the gas cap and getting the key out. After struggling with it for 5 minutes, thought I was going to have to ride home with the cap open...finally slammed it shut and got the key out...any solutions?

Tricky...

Common on many bikes as well. Trick is too place your thumbs on either side of the key and press firmly till the key pops back to virtical and remove the key. It will get better with use but not much...

Lubricate the sliding latch mechanism. I use TriFlow, it holds up in that use. Needs lubrication every 6 months or so.

This is common on a new F3, after a few times it will quit doing that, make sure the key is in the open position and use the metal lock cover to push the cover down till it seats and then you can take the key out. It really is just the first 4 or so times, it will get easier.

i have the same problem on my 2016 F3Limited Special Series.
I use silicon spray to lubricate rubber and latch mechanism. I use a very ,very tiny amount.
That solves the problem for me for a little while.

Yep been there , cussed that and then "fixed" that...

Open up cap....cover fill area...get the silicone and work well into all gaskets. Spray key and insert and remove several times ....
When closing cap I press on both sides of key and wala easy working. Did the silicone application after I was sure I was going to end of in PA with a broken key...fixed works perfect and haven't had to apply anything since then....

Personally I found beating it with a hammer works quite well:joke:. Or you can also turn the key 90% of the way straight then use both thumbs and snap it close and finish the last 10% and remove the key. Whichever keeps your sanity.
