• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Gas canister up-date

Got back home and put canister back on the bike. Hooked up the tank vent line back where it was on the canister. Run 2 hoses from canister to vent out back of the bike. Left the purge valve still blocked off. Bike running good and no gas smell or gas coming out of lines. Will keep a check on the canister to see if it fills up with gas or not. Even if gas gets in it it should evaporate thru the vent lines.

It may evaporate, but I would be hesitiant to have anything under the tupperware holding gas. Out of curiosity, if you have the purge valve disconnected, why connect the evap cannister?

It's breaking EPA laws to remove it. I think the reasons for the fires on the RS platform is due to the foam on the inside of the panels that reflect the heat and lowers engine noise. Read the thread: Fire In The Hole by MADJACK. I am to cut some of the foam off and see if it burns and at how high of a temp. to set it on fire.

I'm confused as to why you would reinstall the evap canister? :hun:
When I had run the vent line out the back directly off the fuel tank, with the vent line ran above the tank, when I stopped and got off it blew a little gas out the vent. This was with a 1/2 tank in it. I would rather it dropped a little into the canister and evaporate later. I just didn't like the gas drops at the rear. Since installing the canister everything fine. Using the canister like a catch can.

I think of it more as a Molotov cocktail waiting to go off. :yikes:

To each their own. I ran my vent line directly down from the tank and exit through the lower panel behind the radiator. The only time I see gas coming out that line in liquid form is when I overfill the tank. I always fill my tank to top and have had no problems. Good luck with yours.
I figured it would run out the vent with a full tank, but not 1/2 a tank. Not worried about it being a Molotov cocktail with the gas tank being the main meal :roflblack:.
