• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For those of you with a Garmin GPS in North America, with lifetime maps. There is a new map available, version 2020.30. From what I am reading there is firmware update that goes with it.

I did the update, then went to Maggie Valley, Got there, turned on my 660 Garmin, N.C. not an option...WHAT??? Called
Garmin customer support, they told me to add a memory card, then do whole update process over. Needless to say I had no maps while there.

:hun::banghead: glad Garmin’s do offer the option for expanded memory but when it comes to lifetime maps, shouldn’t that be condensed & considered primary memory that fits on the units internal memory by default. While the other additional data; voices, POI, whatever, are what goes to expanded memory :dontknow: just a thought

:agree:

When I had a memory card loaded with music in my 660, Garmin Express said there wasn't enough internal memory to complete the map upgrade and had to use the card. When I removed the card and restarted the upgrade, miraculously, the device now had enough internal memory. I never knew removing memory cards could add internal memory!
