• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garmin map update.

Speaking of Garmin, my ZUMO 660 battery is dying (won't hold a charge) and I can't find a replacement locally. I'm being told by some "good luck, it's a Garmin only item and it's probably not supported anymore." Curious...….Has anyone had to replace their battery for this item?

There is a fix for that. It is not the battery, it is the contacts . Here is a link that explains how to fix it. http://www.totally4bikers.com/blog/...90-run-on-its-battery-for-only-a-few-minutes/

Thanks for the heads up.
I used to dread these map updates. I had Frontier Communication as my internet provider.
It could take as much as 4 hours to update the maps.
I have two GPS. One for my Van and another for my Spyder.
That's 8 hours to update maps. I'd start running the update before I went to sleep and let it run all night
I changed to Xfinity about two weeks ago.
I'm doing the update now. About 30 minutes for each GPS.
WOW, what a difference.
