• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. GARMIN GPS "Insert Battery" Message

Hey folks,

I am a "newbie". I have a 2013 RT. When I put Garmin unit on the Spyder, I get
"insert battery" message no matter what I do. I have registered the unit. I have seen a thread on this, but can't locate it. Anyone had this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Battery

Scotty maybe right, call Garmin.

But before you do verify that you have installed the GPS battery correctly. If you have multimeter you might see if the battery is charged or slam dead.

When I put mine together I had a take it apart twice for a bad contact had some sort of a film on it keeping from making good contact.

I had a problem with mine when I first bought it , the battery was dead from the package I bought a new battery online and have not had a problem there after .

Thanks very much for the help! I'll clean all contact points and try again. Does the battery recharge if I leave it on the bike?

If you need a place to charge it. Plug it into the usb port on your computer. As long as the computer stays on it will charge.
