I have a 765(T) that I use on my Spyder. I've had to replace the cradle holder a number of times, due to connection being lost (message). I know it's the cradle holder, and it's at the cable connection end. I lose the connection with the car cable and Spyder cable. I've replaced the cradle holder 3x, and it doesn't seem to last long, maybe 1 riding season or slightly more. My question is, why can't I use the pc cable port (mini usb) to charge from while on the Spyder? I tried it yesterday, and it seems to work. I've googled the problem, and found where someone said the pc connection is 12 volts, and the cradle connection is 5 volts, and by using 12 volts to power the gps, you'll shorten the life of the gps. That shouldn't be a problem because the standard usb connection I'm using with a powerlet outlet states it limits the voltage to 5 volts. Has someone else here on SL's done what I'm asking?
