• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garmin 660 Volume

how can I get GPS instructions through the speakers without listening to the radio or Ipod? with radio volume up I get radio sound and Garmin directions, with ipod on, I get both ipod and garmin instructions....however, what if I want to silence radio and ipod but still get Garmin instructions?? What am I missing?

I'm not 100% sure about this: give it a try...
Hit your down arrow until the radio is quiet...
Program in something to the GPS, and see if you can hear it through the speakers...
If you can: the problem is solved!
If you can't: it answers your question, with something that you didn't want to hear...

Let me just expand on what Bob said. With the radio playing through the speakers, depress and HOLD the down arrow. That mutes the radio only. If you tap the down arrow down, you'll lower the volume for everything.

Edit; so on the Garmin, go into the volume mixer page. It helps to keep the Master volume at 100%. You then adjust the Garmin volume either using the Navigation volume on the Garmin screen, or up/down buttons on the Spyder. When the radio or iPod starts playing again, just hold down that down arrow and it will mute it.

thanks guys, I think that is what I was doing wrong -- tapping volume down instead of holding it to mute. I will try it.
