Garmin 660 not connecting

For some reason I cannot get my 660 to connect to my computer
to update the maps. The computer doesn't recognize the device.
It worked for my Garmin NUVI.
Anyone else had this problem?

I had similar problem check the cable & connection on device side. May be dust or something simple. Mine was cable failed it would charge but no data

Try cleaning the battery connections.

The battery needs to be in the device with the cover off.

I had to try three different cords. third one was the charm so I marked it just for the garmin.
