• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone know if the Can Am supplied Garmin 590 is lifetime maps.
I was told that it was when I purchased the bike, and yet when I tried to update mine with the new maps this am, it said I had to pay for them?????

Is this correct? :dontknow:

Check the serial # if it ends with LM or has LM in the # somewhere it is Lifetime Free Maps

if it says LM and will not let you update call Garmin customer service and talk to them.

I had to do this with mine and they sent me a Lifetime Maps Card

If you bought a RT Limited it should be free Lifetime Maps, if you bought a RT or RTS it might not be LM

The way I understand it is that all Zumo 590's supplied by BRP are Lifetime Maps. Zumo 660 older versions are not lifetime maps but newer ones are. If it says LM in the model number. It is lifetime maps. Call Garmin.

Thanks, it is a RT LTD and that is what I thought. It has always loaded the new maps until today when it wanted to charge me.

Thanks for the input, I will call Garmin.

Take your 590, open the battery cover, lift the battery at the opposite end from the plug and check the model number. If it says Zumo 590 LM you're good to go. If it says otherwise, call Garmin OEM Product Support, 855-607-2536, and explain the problem.

I just checked the Garmin site and it looks like they never a Zumo 590 model that was not a LM version.

Are you using the latest version of Garmin Express?

You need to register it with Garmin. (The original owner) It will then allow free updates.

It was registered. On the phone with Garmin right now and they said that "yes it has lifetime maps".
They are working on it to see why it is not being honored.

Thanks for all of your input!

By the way, seeing how it cam with the Spyder, there is a OEM number at Garmin to call for help. That number is 855-607-2536 if any of you might need it. Calling direct just cuts out one more step, one more person to talk to, and one more phone transfer.

Thanks again!
