Garmin 590 question

I use the 590 on my 2015 RT. It works great while on the road. However, it will not hold a charge when off the Spyder. It seems the battery does not charge. I do turn the GPS off when I remove it from the Spyder and it always reads low battery. Any ideas?

when you start the bike, does the gps come on. sounds to me that it is not powering up or down. you might also need a new battery if it is hooked up right and the unit is receiving 12 volts from the bike

Mine will last about a half hour off the bike, then it calls for charging.

The GPS won't charge even hooked up to a computer while updating.

sounds like a problem with the GPS. Call GArmin maybe get it repaired under warranty??

I had a problem wherein the battery dould not fully charge even when on the Spyder all day as well as when on computer for 24 hours. Called Garmin, they had me do the 24 hours on computer and they replaced under warranty.

Your GPS battery has gone bad and needs to be replaced. I see on GPS City web site the cost is $50.
