• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

FYI on my RT's Top Speed

Capt Ron

I have not pushed the byke to see what she will do. But a couple of weeks ago coming out of Jackson, MS on 20 West I pulled into joined a group of HDs running west. Riding two up (~330lbs) windshield all the way up we had no problem hitting 92mph. That is until my wife noticed our speed and hit on the back of the head:yikes:!
You have a PM

We were behind multiple slow vehicles on a rural section of highway out in Eastern WA when I finally had enough, and signaled to pull out to pass (you KNOW you are going slow when the HAY TRUCK behind you is passing you!).

Realized I was up around 90, and my wife's Vulcan 500 was NOT going to be keeping up with me, so started to roll off and heard, "No, it's fine, keep going, I'm right behind you" - and realized that I had, for the first time ever, had the bike at absolute max throttle.

And I was still accelerating when I rolled off the throttle, too. I haven't had Charlotte going any faster than 90, but I do firmly believe now that she'd give me 100 or more if I asked it of her.

Run the windshield down
put about five extra pounds of air in the front tires
Get the adjustable air deflectors, and put them in the center (open) position...
You 'll see "the ton"!

I have been up to 112 on the expressway, I weigh about 200 these days. Had to pass a few semi trucks and decided it was a good time to see what it would do. Riding two up with 120 pounds of wife aboard, we made 103, just to try it. I don't typically wring it out to those levels, but sometimes you just have to push it little. I don't think that was "topped out", but couldn't be certain.

I got my spydy up to 118 in Arizona on last years coast to coast ride........ of course the guys I was riding with blew by me like I was sitting still,,,,,, one was a Harley & other was a Yamaha cross country

Yup; it kind of gets ingrained into your way of thinking...

Although when I get my 1330; it'll be fun to wonder just how fast I WON'T be going on it! :D
now "come-on-man", we know you're gonna get the urge someday to grip that throttle tight and give it the quick turn of the wrist and who knows what will happen from there. maybe cathy will bop you in the back of the head and then you'll drop back down to 65!:roflblack::roflblack:

Both husband (195#) and myself (160#) have had our RT's up to 103 then she wouldn't do anymore. We were told by a BRP rep that they have a govenor on them. We were on a roller coaster 2 lane well paved highway in E. WA.
My previous RS would do 110 w/no problem! But who needs it? Just had to see what it would do and wanted to out-do my then fiance on his HD trike! Tee Hee (Obviously, I converted him to the Can Am).:bowdown:

Been well over the 150 mark in the yearly 70's on yamahas and others, but my rt at 65 + is a handfull.

Then you need to have it checked...there's no way an RT should be a "handfull" at 65mph. I cruise at 75mph on a regular basis with absolutely no problems.
