Fuses under the seat

Hi there!!

I have extra fuses for the front box in the trunk, even an extra relay... However I do not have any spare fuses that fit the fuse box under the seat, as they are a different size then the ones up front for some reason.

I was hoping to pick some of these up before I head out to Magog (next week, wow time is flying!).

Guys, what type/size fuses are there under the seat? I wonder if Napa or similar have them in stock?

Thanks.
Dean

These are just regular automotive fuses, only larger amperage than the front ones. Any auto parts store should have what you need. Just right down the amperages and get one of each.

Thanks for the note on this.

The fuses are as follows, on my SM5:
1. OPTION
2. TCM VALVES BLIPPER (OPTIONAL) --- empty on my SM5 - 20A
3. RECTIFIER - 50A
4. MAIN FUSE - 40A
5. DPS MOTOR - 40A
6. VSS PUMP - 40A
7. HEADLAMP - 30A
8. VSS VALVES - 25A

Is there a name for this type of fuse I can ask the local shop about, or just take in a cell phone picture of the fuses, to indicate which type I'm interested in?!

Thanks
Dean

Be careful...

For starters there are two lengths sold... There is a rather tall series and a short one. I think the Spyder has the tall... Just take one out and bring it with you.

However... The 25amp you have to order from your Spyder dealer. I have yet to find one in the store.

And, here are the various amp sizes, which you were nice enough to provide previously.

They are JCase fuses, and the standard ones, not the low profile ones.

Thanks guys.

Got mine at Canadian Tire, except the 25. Got that at the dealership.
Wal-Mart had nothing of the sort... I got mine at Canadian Tire, also, except no 25A, and nothing in their database/computer on one. I will try and get on at my Dealer also. Hope they have one in stock. :dontknow:

Probably a good idea to have a spare, but how often do people replace them?I have not heard of anyone on here finding a blown one, that was giving them a problem.:dontknow:

Good question - any blow any fuses from under the seat, or up front?

I would like to have a spare of all fuses (which I do now with the exception of the 25A) for the trip to Magog, but as it is, my Dealer will not have one in before my time of departure.

I have been to four dealers and none of them stock the 25 amp fuse. :dontknow:

My local dealer does not stock it either... in fact the guys at the parts counter has never seen this type of fuse before... I showed him a spare 30A I purchased from Canadian Tire..... He looked up the SM5 2010 parts catalog and found the 25A fuse under the Spyder electric components section. It is on order for me now, but will not arrive before I depart for Magog.

fyi, if you go to an automotive dealership they have the same type of fuses you require. Also have seen at a reputable auto parts store ( parts source ). Hope that helps....

Thanks for the note.
All of these fuses are JCASE fuses that I have purchased at Canadian Tire, except the 25A fuse, which is only available, it seems through a Dealer.

Thanks.
