• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This newbie just got done changing the battery, I think I messed up, Got the new battery from the delers and he charged it overnight. After I changed the battery still nothing, called the dealer and they said check the fuses. Could not find any of the fuses blown. There are a lot of sorry for the description, little black boxes, believe those are relasys.

Would anyone know how to check relays and which one might be for the starter etc, if there is one. Thanks in advance guys

I had to look at your profile to see you have a 2013 RT correct?:dontknow: & befor digging in fuses go back check your work on the the cables, are clean & tight. The dealer told you it was charged, can you verify (volt meter), or charge it yourself. You get nothing, no dash, any lights, radio? Kind of nothing or just won't start??:hun:

Everything Lights up

Everything lights up brake lights dash radio plays etc. When it turn the key on though I dont get the safety card thing. and it goes sstraight to the speedometer. Just wont cran over, I am hoping when we tried to jump start ti te other night I didnt fry the starter. I tightend up the cable with a ratchet so I know they are tight and clean. Just wont turn over :yikes: Thanks Guys

1- make sure red kill switch is in run position
2- bike in neutral or foot on brake
3-press :mode: button
4 press start

if that fails

5-check fuse F8. replace if blown
6-starter solenoid could be bad. it is located to the right of the battery. Use youtube to learn how to test your solenoid. I wont give you advice on that.
7-if fuse F8 continues to blow, then take to dealer. Diode D2 could be bad but will require more extensive tests.

Thats about all I can get out of the repair manual.

Hope it helps

After installing or reconnecting battery the battery. The read the safety card message and push the mode button is skipped the first start. That's normal so ignore that symptom.

First the basics.
Put your butt in the seat.
Make sure the engine kill switch is in the run position.
Turn the key on.
Do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple seconds? If yes that's good. If no that can point to a key or DESS error. The error will not show on the screen until one minute after turning the key on. So if you are not watching the screen you will miss it. If you have a key error try the spare key.
When the safety card message comes up. Push the mode button. If it skips the safety card message don't worry about it.
Put your foot on the brake pedal and hold it down.
If you have a manual pull in the clutch lever.
Then press the start button.

Now the details are important here exactly what happens. Does it click and the screen cycle off then on again? Or does nothing at all happen? If nothing at all happens. Check the stuff Joel The Biker suggested. If the screen cycles off and on. Loose connection.
