• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why don't you go back to McHales Navy that's in black and white, or don't the youngsters know what black and white is...:):):)

People are who they are and a little heat in the discussion as with food, makes it interesting. I would sooner hear from someone with some conviction in what they are saying than someone who is being wishy washy so as to not step on any toes.
The worst thing it seems that one can do on this forum is make a statement with a lot of conviction. The attack spyders of conformity are then unleashed. I believe many keep their posts very non-confrontational on purpose for this reason.
If you look at the make up of any forum, their are members with high status in the group who could most likely say anything and never be reprimanded and then there are members of lower status who even though they could make all kinds of sense, because of their low status in the group, they would be attacked on what they say.
And before someone else on here says it to me, I will say it "Thankyou Doctor Phil."

You are on here more than me Bob, but I have not seen any out and out personal attacks.
I do know people that are members of other motorcycle forums and unless your one of the core group, any post you have is either ignored or your post is outright attacked ruthlessly.
So, this forum is very civilized, when compared to other forums on the web.

My post wasn't towards heated discussions in general, but the volume at the same time. We had old threads coming back to life with pot shots being taken, had vendors being raked over the coals, it just seemed like there were alot of uptight people yesterday.
 
Maybe we're "too" passionate about the spyder which causes some to over-react when something goes wrong with her....:dontknow:

There's no doubt that naybody can have a bad day at almost any time. I've been grumpy in here more times than I'd like; that's for sure. :opps:
I agree; We've had very few personal attacks happen in here. :2thumbs: Maybe that's why it often seems so out of character for all of us when things just don't die down after a little while. :shocked:

All I ever try to do, is treat folks the way that I'd like to be treated. When I'm wrong and called out for it; I try to apologize to the wronged party... i would certainly hope that you guys woiuld say something if I screw up; I try to let folks know if they might be getting a bit "close to the edge". I just don't try to beat them over the head with it; tht's all...

We now return you to the Arts: Goldie Hawn, or Gidget??
