• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fuel guage acting up.

G'day all, Has anyone had any issues with their fuel guage.
In the last few days I have noticed that mine seems to be moving around a lot even when the Spyder is stationary.
The last time I filled up the gauge only shows 2/3 full :dontknow:.
It normaly shows all bars but the last little one.
Any help would be appreciated.

There have been a few reports of bad sending units or gauge clusters. First thing I would do, though, is check the connections at your battery to be sure they are clean and tight. Also check the ground bolt under the seat. Finally, check the battery voltage. It should be at least 12.6 volts after sitting overnight...preferably higher.

Had my fuel gauge sending unit replaced on warranty at about 20,000 kilometers last October. They had to replace the whole fuel pump assembly. It was acting a lot like yours, but at first it wouldn't indicate a full tankeven after filling carefully with a jerry can, then it just got erratic.

Last summer on a road trip in CO, mine was acting up. Wouldn't register more than a few bars, despite being full. I stopped in at a Co. Springs dealer. He pulled the cluster cleaned/reseated and called back to BRP. Still wouldn't register, so I just kept track of mileage and crossed my fingers. In a couple days, everything started working again and has been working since.:dontknow:

millage is the best way to keep track the "gauge" is really just an indicator

i dose not seam to replete it self well

failing fuel gauge

+Mine's now begun not registering full any longer after fillup. It registers about half and rapidly shows low fuel lamp at about 50 miles.

No change to mpg, however, but I'll keep an eye on it and report it for extended warranty coverage, if necessary.

Ride on.
