Fuel gage not working

I just got a 2008 GS recently and have run into an issue with the gas gage. Fuel level showed 3 bars when I parked it that evening outside and then it rained overnight. Started it up the next morning to go to work and the gage has no reading now. All the other gages on the cluster work fine but no fuel reading. I visually checked the level and have at least a half tank. This wont stop me from ryding but wonder if others have had this happen to them or if anyone knows where to start looking for the problem? Thanks for any help in advance.

I also had this issue with my o8 se5 2wks after buying it rode all summer with no gauge (used trip meter) took it to the dealer on 10/10/11 probable fuel module. But will let you know when they call me with info.

I have not seen any issues with the bar gauge not working. The analog gauges on the 2010 RTS are junk though--I am on my 2nd guage and that does not work either. I note that for 2012 they are adding a "electronically dampened" gauge to the RTS.

I am also experiencing inaccurate readings on the digitalgauge after refueling to the max the gauge is missing 3 of the last top barsand I know this is for sure an fuel sensor issue as I have seen it a couple oftimes now on my bike.. Done only 8000 kilometers so far.

Starting to think about the quality parts BRP has used to develop this bike.. MMMM

I have 2009 rs just had second sending unit replacement at 26000 miles. If look at the unit you see that its light duty. I do have about 3 miles of bad road each day that I ride, might be the problem. I still love it and ride as much as I can.

Some of BRP snowmobiles use the same gauge, My sons does the same, won't register to the top even though the tank is full.!!
