• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fuel Filter Leaking ??

Crisis

New member
Hi,
Anyone ever have their fuel filter spring a leak? Mine did. 2008 GS. Also do you have to put the OEM part back?
Thanks in advance

changed mine out last year when I was in south Carolina. went to the neighborhood napa parts house and got a basic steel inline fuel filter for the proper line size. don't remember the part #.

I don't understand why they manufacture a fuel filter with a flange in the middle of it. That's where it's leaking.

Interesting. ...

have seen connection leaks especially in units that have not been changed for extended periods. They can get heavily blocked and create pressure but you can get replacement filters at your local autoparts store.

Installed 2 Duramax plastic filters, both leak at seams of filter, not hose connections. Bad filter? Another issue?
Thanks

Okay. If anything good comes out of this thread it will remind everyone to change their fuel filter. Never ever buy an Autozone Duralast replacement fuel filter. Napa replacement filter did the trick.
Grazie

Why did you fit plastic filter to a pressurised system? :gaah:
