Fuel Door for Day Long Seat

I have my appointment for a Day Long seat for my 2014 RT-S. I currently have a Corbin seat with a hinged fuel door and I want to have a similar set up on my Day Long. I just talked to Jay at Day Long and he said I will need to provide the hinged fuel door and hardware as the Corbin hinged fuel door will not work on the Day Long seat. He suggested I post here to find out from others who may have done this, what they ordered and from where. I do not want just the round fuel door that is exposed. Thank you for your help.

Hi Mike. This is the fuel door I don't want. I want a fuel door that can be covered in the vinyl that will be used on my seat and is hinged.

This is the fuel door I currently have on my Corbin seat. I want something like this, where it's covered in the material on the seat and is on a hinge.

That door / access panel is ( IMHO ) custom made by or for Corbin , you can try to get them to sell you one ...... but others have tried without success ....good luck .... Mike

I was going to take the one off my Corbin seat, but Day Long said it will not work on their seat. So are these type of access doors my only option? I just didn't want all those 'screws' exposed and a key lock, I don't find that attractive. I also want it in black and was concerned that it being metal it would be hot against my leg.

If I'm restricted to these kind of access doors, is there a particular model I need to get? Or would something like this work since it doesn't have the key lock?

Another member here (?) did something a little different ..... they made the front of the seat ( the wing part over the gas cap ) able to be folded back / open(?) ....Someone will post a link or pics .... I'm not sure if there was a hinge added or they just used the seat vinyl as the hinge .... they put a piece of Velcro on it to keep it closed ..... Mike

This is a " COVER " and must be attached to REAL GAS DOOR for it to work ..... and it won't solve your original issue ....... Mike

You are so helpful and I appreciate your patience with me.....I saw the post about the guy who "bent back" the wing on his seat and I passed on that idea. Would you please post a ink to the access door I would need to purchase and I will go with it.

Couple of things of interest here. First of all they say the Corbin door won't work on their seat. Their seat is your current stock seat modified by them. Second, a few years ago I asked to have a door put in my RDL seat and they flat refused. Said it weaken the integrity of the seat. Times change I guess. :dontknow:
