• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had my dealer order and install a Corbin seat before I even took delivery of my 2014 RT because I didn't want my wife to have to dismount every time I got off the Spyder. You would think they would change the design and add the fuel door from the factory.

Bogie, I started out ordering the fuel cover door from Amazon. My money left immediately but nothing on the order. I had to contact Amazon which put me in touch with the actual seller. There excuse was that they didn't have one. Told me that the shipping department said it would go out in 5 to 10 business days. Now this was already after a week had passed from the order date. I canceled the order and got my money back. I went ahead and got an Ultimate Seat since I have back issues anyway and it came with the door installed. Lesson learned.
😕😩⌛

I would be leery about sitting on a Spyder while someone fueling it up... for fear of a fire hazard.. a small spill could turn into a big fire !!

I ordered from them also. Same story except I've not cancelled the order yet.:( Very expensive part compared to the others, but I could not find the size specifications on others.

I agree it would surely be more convenient ... but think safety trumps saving a minute more to re-fuel..

About 15 minutes more for me to refuel if my wife has to dismount. If an issue occurs, I'll do what I must and put her over my shoulder and run off. Safety is very important I'll agree, but it does not trump all things. Balance of safety and reality is the norm for some folks. Otherwise we would all be in cages

Don, can you post a pic of the back side of the seat so we can see the cut you made on the pan? I'm getting ready to do this mod.

Post #12 were the best pictures I could take of the underside of the seat [I should have taken the pictures of the underside with the seat off]
The cut is straight
Start at top right where seam on top side is
I cut down to bottom seam but if I were to do it again I would cut toward the rear of the bottom seam about 2 inches [this would give more room
Only cut the plastic pan not the vinyl or foam
Remove only enough staples from top and bottom [maybe 3 or 4 ] to be able to fold vinyl and foam out of the way and cut pan [take your time so you do not cut vinyl]
Then when you fold vinyl and foam back it will be tight without adding staples
I did change from Velcro latch to a magnetic cabinet latch

GAS DOOR ....D.I.Y........TIP

If you are contemplating doing a GAS DOOR.....and haven't seen My post and / or the Spyder TV video.......What I did and this makes for a much neeter and easier job is ........Have a propane torch ready ( this is easiest ) or a charcoal grill, or some very very hot heat source. Because all the bolt holes you make will be done with a large RED HOT NAIL.....Put the gas door where you want it , and poke a hole for the first bolt ( at the top ).....check to make sure this is OK because you can still move the door slightly now........put in a bolt finger tight.......Poke a hole in the bottom, put in another bolt ......do all the rest.............For the large hole I used a piece of large muffler pipe ....got it red hot and melted a hole ( my hole was smaller than yours is going to be )......you can probably use a food can of appropriate size..........HOLD THE HOT METAL NAILS OR CAN WITH VISE GRIPS.........Doing it this way prevents tearing / snagging the seat material ( it has strong nylon threads woven thru it )........Good Luck .....Mike
