Fuel Cap Lacking a Tether... Anybody Has a Mod for that?

My Spyder's fuel cap slid down the seat today during fueling when I accidentally bumped it and it almost got ran over by a passing truck! :yikes:

The aftermarket tether I found in auto parts store requires that I drill a hole on the fuel cap--something I'd rather not do... I am wondering if anyone came up with a mod that does not require drilling?

Here's an overlooked but necessary mod-to-be created.

When I refuel I place the cap immediately to the right, under the seat. That way I can't put the seat down unless the cap is on and it's got no where to roll.

You're not going to get the story out of me (short of waterboarding) about why this habit came about......but somewhere there's a gas station with an extra gas cap....pps:

I have a nice small device that snaps inside the cap and then lets it hang on a cable or wire loom while you fuel the Spyder.

Have these on all my bikes.

My fuel cap is hard to get off. Doesn't want to catch when I try to take it off. Was wondering what after market cap to get to replace the stock one.

That's where I place mine too. Using a tether would worry me that you could scratch the Spyder up.

I hold mine with the left hand and pump with the right. A tether would be nice though.

This is the same thing I do. It also helps me remember, as I am usually fueling up both Spyders at the same time.

I have never really thought about getting a tether for it before, but that could also be a good idea.
