• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I took my bike to CFPS today they installed only the frunk switch , guess what, frunk switch works great, my point is brp did not install the switch but if you decide to get one all the gear is already installed on the Spyder, new switch is parking brake and frunk

:2thumbs: The way that it was; and should always be! :2thumbs:
Thanks for the information!

Here's the thing..!!

to expensive to make wiring harnesses for every model. All RT's have the wiring for the accessories. Good to know you are able to make these additions. Hope they charge a fair price for installation. Some times they like to make you think they are running miles of wires to get things to work when it is all there...

I am confused, does the new frunk switch operated both parking brake and frunk opening? Or is it a separate switch as it has been?

Thank you for the update. I will keep that in mind. Guess that I will play with the key system first though.
You have to turn the key regardless. I never use the switch , just push the key down and turn to the left. Engine will remain running if it were running prior to opening the trunk when pushing the key down and to the left.

Just FYI so everyone knows, I saw some debate about it on another post, but the 2014 RT does have the wiring harness to accompany the frunk switch... but the switch is not there and the actuator is not there. The part number in the accessory catalog includes the switch AND the actuator together. Hence the high price. So the front headlight area has to be removed to install the actuator and then replace the switch.

I also want to note that the new switch is back lit in blue NOT RED like the other switches. They will not match.

I have found the following on my current RT's. Switch will open the frunk as long as the :spyder2: is running. No key necessary. If I shut the :ani29: off, I need to push the key in and turn it for the frunk to release. On the 2014's, apparently, there is no standard operating frunk release without purchasing the special switch. They are key activated only.

Did they make you sign a release of liability so that you can't sue them if you accidentally push the parking brake while your grandchild/child is on the back and the Spyder rolls away? :roflblack:

frunk switch

I hope that you did not have to pay for it because it is on their build site as included on the rts and limited. Its also in the parts catalog as included. I am going to make sure I get my switch in the negotiation.

Big Mac leg- read all my previous posts.......Brp will not honor that marketing printed all that material before the bike was released, no it's not standard
