• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frunk LED light: Where is the positive wire

I did a search but I came up empty. Probably using the wrong key words. Would like to tap into this for a fuseblock. Where do I begin to look for this and what color is the positive wire?

Thanks.....

Let me clarify.....I am looking for a switched wire that I can tap into for my new fuse block. I vaguely remember something about the frunk LED light. However, I am thinking I need to locate the positive wire running to the frunk switch. Can't use the wires for the frunk power outlet as I have the fuse moved so the trunk outlet is hot at all times. Looking for clarification.....any help is appreciated.

Left side under the top black frunk cover there are connectors for the light and other things. YOu have to open the frunk lid.for the cargo light connector

Most good fuse blocks use a switched 12V to trigger a relay in the FB to turn on 12V from the battery.
If your is like that, then the switched 12 you use is not used to drive anything (very low load switching a relay).
So you can pick off just about any switched 12V that runs a riding light.

As for which wire is positive, with a service manual and wiring diagram you can find it. If you don't have that, you will need a volt meter to find one.

I agree with Bob. I just installed a FZ-1 Fuzeblock. For the 12V Switched wire, I tapped into the analog gauge light wire. Not sure where you are mounting your block, but it's a short trip to the gauges if you're up front somewhere. When looking at the gauge, use the "lone" wire attached to the gauge to tap into.
