There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. frunk leak issues?

MindlessMuse

New member
Just went out to take a ride and opened my frunk to discover a nice little puddle from the rain yesterday.

I only had the travel cover on so it was not protected.

My gloves are pretty soaked, luckily I brought my jacket in last time I rode.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Kevyn

Take it back to the dealer since it's a 2012 !!!! Have them fix it under warranty because a trunk should not leak. Most likely a gasket issue. :thumbup:Good luck

I would check the rubber gasket and make sure its seated properly as Artufun stated also if you have the trunk liner until its broken in it tends to slip out and dislodge the rubber seal . I Would give it a look first but the bottom line is its up to the dealer to make it good. Hope it isn't an issue .

Come to think of it................Maybe this new trunk spring has something to do with it ????? If the frunk spring is has to much force and the latch rod is not adjusted correctly, I could see the pressure from the spring pushing the lid up and it could possibly create a gap and leak around the gasket. This would not be far fetched if this Spyder was built on a friday afternoon.

OP, I'm not sure how much knowledge you have with the Spyder, but this should be an easy fix for you or your dealer.

Thanks for the replies. I already have an appointment to get some lights installed this week, I will have them double check it while it is there.

The gasket around looked okay, but since there seems to be a little play when closed (able to push down on trunk a little) it might not be fully sealed.

For the amount of rain we got I am happy that the amount was as small as it was.

Figured I would ask, just to see if it was a known issue or not.

Thanks!

PUDDLE

RANDY is correct on all counts. I have an 08 and never had a drop of water in the frunk...and I have been in some torrenchall downpours....you may also want to put some type of plastic grill type stuff in the bottom to keep stuff off the floor ...Just in case.....Mike....

I had the same problem and thought it was coming in from the top. There are two halves to the trunk. Mine was leaking at the seam in the middle. I could push on the seam and see it split. I took it off and used black gasket sealant and went around the outside as well as the inside and so far so good.
