• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

frunk latch

Try pushing down on it while you turn the key release. It may take two people. If there is cargo pushing back on the lid, they can do this. If not, it may need adjustment and/or lubrication.

Electronic release. Tried engine on engine off really stumped ...was wondering if maybe a manual release hidden somewhere

They all have a manual release. Push the ignition key straight down, then turn counterclockwise. Your manual explains this. The 2010 will not release electronically without the engine running...not just the key turned on. The 2011 releases with the key on. If yours does not release electronically, it needs to be lubed and adjusted by the dealer.

Scotty's right on the manual process... Did you load the frunk up enough that something is exerting some outward pressure against the lid? (That's why pushing down on it might help take the pressure off and allow it to release.)

Boot catch will not release

Hi, can any one help me, my boot lid on the RTS will not release and I have tried numerous pushing banging etc but nothing works, I there any way to gain entry without damaging the lid?

Are you talking about releasing manually, electrically, or both? Also, what year RTS...it makes a difference.

A technique that was used by my dealership when I had latch problems was to gently move the frunk lid back and forth sideways and have someone do the "key turn" release method. There should be just a little play that allows you to move the frunk sideways. I might add that my latch issue was solved by replacing it with a new latch assembly under warranty.

My '11 RTS wouldn't open with the "key method" but would open with electronic switch. Required a replacement cable for the key switch.

I have an appointment for the rear trunk latch to be replaced tomorrow morning. Right now it dosen't stay latch even when it's locked.
