• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frunk getting hard to unlatch

Although I can still open my frunk, it is getting harder and harder to turn the key to open it. I have LaMonster's IPS key cover, so I even have extra leverage and grip which should make it easier.

The frunk closes effortlessly so I think the latch is properly aligned. Suggestions (before it stops opening altogether)?

How easy does the key turn when the frunk lid is open? I suggest you test without the IPS device; use only your spare Spyder key or take the key out of the IPS. Too much leverage could break something, like the key or the cable.

Add a "wire" to the latch and hide in the left wheel well. Also lube cable sleeve. Not something to ignore.

Here is a pix of my wire.

Latch

Mine was doing the same put some light oil on the lath took care of it prone to getting water on it

Thanks for the suggestions. This weekend I'll try to lube the cable and latch, will see if pressing down on the frunk when turning the keys helps.

Similar problem after "repair"

My frunk won't unlatch at all with the key now that the local Spyder Whiz has had his way with her. (BRP-style alignment) What is the best way to access the latch assembly to check it?

He also improved my LED daytime running lights by tying down the wire on the left side in such a way that a left turn would pull the connector apart. Easy fix, but oh so annoying.

Oh yeah- the glove compartment doesn't lock anymore, either. Same guy, but on an earlier visit before I owned it.

thats what i use all the time now. pulls easily and takes the strain off the key.
plus, you can lift the lid at the same time. irv:rolleyes:

Very seldom does mine act up, but in the last two weeks, several times I have went to close the frunk and it would stick half shut. Once I had a heck of a time getting it to open. I sprayed some silicone on latch and lock, and has been fine, until the other day it was acting up again. I am going to go ahead like you mentioned and squirk some bicycle lube into the cable housing, but do you think that I should replace the piece on the frunk lid. A little pitted and strange.
Would I be better lubing the latch with Blaster Dry Lubricant wit PTFE, or Silicone?

Funk acting up

Mine has been acting up to! Tried to talk hubby into putting an emergency release cable somewhere... He sprayed this and adjusted that and for one day it worked well...

My frunk doesn't open unless I use the key and reach around and put slight pressure on the lid at same time. My frunk button on dash wasn't working at all. He did something with that also. I haven't retried that button yet...

Hubbies next thought is maybe the rubber seal around the frunk is getting old and compressed?

Now if someone knows how to get my tablet from changing all their words it thinks I want to type... that would be helpful too

You can change settings on your tablet

Keep your (spell check) on
But
Turn your (auto fill) off

Auto fill is useless and probably the cause of many mental breakdowns[emoji624]

I love R&R put another dime in the jukebox baby!
