• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frunk, 2014

I have a 2014 RT with a frunk problem. Either I can't open it or I can't close it. After several attempts with the key, I can manage to open or close the frunk. I miss the open frunk button.

have you checked the rubber seal around the frunk, if it is not on properly then it makes the frunk hard to close and open. I also miss he electric frunk button.

If the beading around the top is not the problem, a dealer adjustment may be in order.

I too, miss the frunk opening button. I am learning to live with pushing in and turning the key. Heck, I have even saved about $100 bucks in the process. :roflblack::roflblack:

Try putting a bit more of a conscious effort, into pushing down on the key, before you try to turn it...
(Since I'm not on the bike; all I know,is one way opens the frunk, and the other opens the seat...)

When opening try turning the key with one hand while the other hand raises the trunk lid. Mine will not pop up whenever the key is turned so it just relocks once I release the key. Normally I don't have a problem closing mine.

I also miss the button.

I'm having a problem with mine not latching closed. At Spyderfest I took it back to the guys at the shop. I have to be careful to put the key back into a neutral position before I close it. But since then, sometimes I do that and the latch still doesn't engage. I just hope the IPS has nothing to do with the problem.

Exactly what mine does for opening. Occasionally it won't lock when I drop the lid. It is just out of alignment to sometimes work and sometimes not. Sunday I think I will tear it apart. Need to permanently mount my Stebel anyway.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

I will try all your suggestions. Why they removed this frunk button is crazy. It should not be this complicated to open the frunk. Again, thanks for your help. I love my 2014, very fine.

Adjust 4 Hinge Bolts

There are four 10mm bolts down front on the hinge. These can be loosened and you can wriggle the frunk lid slightly...theres not much wriggle/adjustment room and you may think its not moving. The bolts have to be fairly loose. Wriggle a little, tighten and see what happens. You may have to do this several times. Hopefully you can find the sweet spot and it will close by dropping the lid and also the upper lid corners will align approx the same.

It helps to have two people...one to hold lid in position while other....with a socket.....tightens.

2014 Frunk latch problem............

Got the same problem here also. I have to turn the key in the direction (clockwise ) to open the seat lock to open the frunk lock to re-latch? You will hear the frunk lock release when doing this. After opening the Frunk ( not being able to relatch ) push key in and turn to the right to open seat latch. You will hear the Frunk latch release? Dealer says this has to do with the key/ignition recall on the 2014 RTL? Have not been back to the dealer as of yet, will provide more info later.

Little checking..!!

could be as simple as lubricating the whole system. Lining it up is a bit tricky but loosening the latch mechanism just to where it can move then closing the lid will center it. Then reopen and tighten it once again....

latch

I had to adjust the catch itself on the front. Just loosened the bolts, closed the lid. It aligned itself, opened ,then tightened bolts:yes::yes:
