• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frosty Gloves

gkamer

Sadly passed away, December '23.
Took my first wintery ride, no snow but lots of fog. Stopped to clear my windshield and discovered my gloves had frozen over from the fog. :)

I really need to beak down and buy myself a pair of heated gloves.

Be careful when the fog gets that cold. When it condenses just a bit, it gets heavier and drops onto the pavement, following every little nook and cranny. Because it's not flat, it APPEARS to be dry pavement, but is, in fact, black ice.

Meet a little patch of that in a corner, things can get ... let's just say "exciting" rather quickly.

I agree there is some exhilaration in a cold ride (I have done several myself), but keep it parked unless it's DRY and cold.

.

Watch out for the black ice. That was when I would hang up my riding. You can go, but you cant stop, and the nanny will not bail you out very well with no traction.

Rykers even have fog lights? Lucked out found 1/2 price kit for ST. At least had place & Wiring harness was ready for it.

Re: Heated gloves. I had 3 pairs of Gerbings, all went bad with hot spots within 1 year. Sent 1st pair back and received a new pair - bad soon after. Rinse. repeat, 3rd pair same story! Gerbing was sold a few years ago and the 'new' models are actually cheaper-made than the originals.

Now riding with Tourmaster heated gauntlet gloves for 3 years and they are great! Warm enough to use most times without plugging in and toasty as needed when plugged in.

Winter water proof motorcycle gloves with a set chemical heat inserts and silk glove liners. Used the chem heat inserts for hunting since I was young, so just kept using them.

Was out when it's cold, and flurries last Jan. But you the man riding in that weather, nice vid.
