Front Turn Signal L.E.D.s

After installing the Street Magic Front L.E.D.s I walked about 50 feet in front of my Spyder to check the brightness at night, and found that the L.E.D.s were slightly pointed downwards, and I had to neel down to get the full effect of the brightness. There is no way to adjust them upwards. I found that the stock lamps worked better. I have the triple play in the rear, and the rear turn signal L.E.D.s are pointed right and are very bright from way off. Just wanted to let folks know what I had experianced. Feed back welcomed.

i know this is a stupid question but did u test in the dark because the led's should throw more light than stock bulbs.... o i guess u did just cant see how stock bulbs were brighter havent installed those yet but will order been happy with everything else i got from nmn

The L.E.D.s are much brighter than stock bulbs, but they are directional so to speak, if they are not adjusted upward more, you lose the direct effect. It's like shining a flash light directly in ours eyes, than tilt the flash light down some, you lose some of the brightness. If I could somehow adjust the L.E.D.s upward some how, they would be very bright, like they should be.

Maybe This Will Work

Since I do not have those, maybe this is a dumb remark but if you swap them meaning left for right and right for left, would that make a difference? Would they point up ? I don't know if that is possible but if you could........:dontknow:

There are no dumb questions, however you can not switch the housings. The left can only fit the left and the same for the right.

NO NO NO.

These lights are designed to shine into the eyes of the average seated driver in an automobile at 50 feet more.

Try sitting in a car at this distrance or further away and you will see the LEDs are aimed right at you.

It is the drivers in cars we want to see you not the guy standing next to your Spyder looking at it in a parking lot.

I would hope none of you would ever try to turn in front of a car at less than 50 feet, so these lights have been "tuned" to work for this minimum distance and the average seated high of a driver in most autos.

However, the further away you get the higher this "view window" becomes and in as much at 'real world" turning distances they work well no matter the height.

I think he's just noticing how LED's don't 'spread' or 'disburse' the light in the same manner as stock bulbs.

+1 LEDs are more directional than a standard incandescent bulb which throws its light in all directions.
