• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP!!! need front tires for our 2010 rts-se5..what tires are best...so many brands..vreestien, federal, bridgestone, dunlop, michelin, achilles, nankang...i am so confused..can i use 4 ply..do i need high speed..omg...:yikes::yikes::yikes:

You're going to get a WHOLE bunch of different options from this crowd... :shocked:
Why don't you like the OEMs?
While I'm not their biggest fan; I did get over 17,000 miles out of a set of them.
Bridgestone, Michelin, Toyo; all get lots of good press in here.
Have you checked with your dealer to see if they'll mount an automotive tire on a rim for a Spyder? Some will, and some won't.

Now; let's wait for the tire experts to show up... :D

Not going there..!!

There are no end to threads on this...my oem tires have 18,000 miles and look new. Great offers for them on ebay and new Vee-Arachnid's are here as well for motorcycle use directional...if your confused now it will get worse..good luck..!! :dontknow:

Front tires...

I have 28k on the original front tires of my 2010 RT, running 22psi... and they still look "new".

I had 43243 miles on my 2012 OEM tires when I traded the RT LTD in, and my guess is that they had another 5000 in them. These tires can perform well if you bike is well aligned and your tires inflated well above BRP recommendations. I am not at all a gentle rider so this is great wear.

tires

I had 40,000 on the oem front tires on my 08 GS. These seemed to be quite round and well aligned. On the other hand, on my NEW 2012 RTs I got last May, I had to put a set of Cooper CS3 tires on, I do really like these, as the OEM tires very out of round = even had one replaced under warranty but still not good enough. OEM tires are fine IF lucky to get some round ones. Also==== ALIGN == ALIGN == ALIGN. One of the BEST things to do for your Spyder.

ALIGNMENT = TIRE MILEAGE

A couple others have just said this ( read above ).............But these statements actually come from GOD.....if your tires are not in some way defective the thing that matters the most is ALIGNMENT ALIGNMENT ALIGNMENT ....any tire you put on will get great mileage, and some of the automotive tires will get incredible mileage butonly if it's accurately aligned............so get it LAZER ALIGNED , IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GO.......Mike :clap: :thumbup:

i was just wondering if i could get better miles from car tires...we have 31,000 on the oem front tires...how ever they are starting to cup and causing a vibration...we got 29,000 out of the rear and put kumho car tires on it...there was no uneven wear on the drive or front tires..will 4 plys give me better wear?? the only problem i have seen is unless i get oems from the dealer...most places will have to order such a unusual size since it still uses 165-65-14...i am still considering oem s from the dealer and he has them in stockk...
