• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Front Tire PSI

So the book says PSI between 13-17 and the tire has a maximum of 30 it says. So where is the happy spot people use and why?

Thanks

One thing I think is clear.. Each Spyder has it's own happy place. We tried quite a few settings... Ended up @ 20. A few here have suggested that was horrible on their :spyder2:'s .

I think the best thing to do (IMHO) is to crank up the front two to 23psi and drop 1psi every ten miles to see what you think.

BTW.. My 20PSI setting is when the tire is cold... I believe they warm up to around 22-23PSI once we have warmed the bike up...

My front tires were set to 30 psi when I drove it from the dealership. Had a difficult time controlling it! Took it down to 20 and now I'm sitting at about 18 and feels good.

It seems 18 to 22 is the best area to run them. Keeps the tread flat on the road and doesn't let the sidewall bag and flex too much on hard turns.

It took a while but we finally settled on 20 with the front shocks set at 5. Tried up to 22 but the ride started to get a little more harsh.

We run 28-30 in the rear with the shock set at 5. I will increase my rear to 7 next time I lift it for something. I stopped breathing helium and got a little heavier and need the extra spring support. Ken krb1945

For the RS, most folks run near 20 psi (cold) for better cornering. On the RT, it seems to be less nervous at a slightly lower pressure. A little experimentation should find the sweet spot for your needs. Although the book recommends pressures as low as 13 psi, the minimum pressure marked on the front tire sidewalls is 15 psi, and I would not recommend going below that. The tire manufacturers usualy only post minimum pressures for safety reasons.

Most important for the front tires: equal left/right pressure! nojoke

After much experimentation regarding handling, I have my front tires set to 17 PSIG. Works well for me either one or two up. The shocks are set to the 5th position.

If the tire pressure is higher, the front end gets wiggly.

I think many are experiencing wear pattern issues with the tires at 20/30...I am at 18/28 and am going to lower it to 17/27 to get a little bit more of a comfortable ride...should reduce vibration a lot...which seems to always be an issue with my bike, no matter what I do...maybe when I get the Ride-on in, that problem will decrease too..

The wear issues on any of your tires are most likely not due to the PSI.. Check your alignment for the fronts. The rear will wear in the middle regardless of PSI.

How much ride-on do you need for the :spyder2:? :chat: I saw on there site they offer 3 tubes. Just wondering!

Lamont posted the official numbers for the Spyder...I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), it's 13 in the fronts and 18 in the rear...ounces, that is...
